Corona virus Prayer of Comfort

August 17, 2020

Comforting Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you that as a believer in Jesus Christ I can rest in the same promise that You made to Israel in Isaiah 41:10. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

In this time of unprecedented chaos and uncertainty in our nation and world, I ask You to lead me in the paths of righteousness. Teach me how to draw comfort from You on a daily basis. Direct me to Scriptures, music, and fellowship opportunities that exalt Your Name and encourage me.

If get anxious or overburdened with all that is happening, remind me to practice what is written in the old hymn, All Your Anxiety:

“Is there a heart over bound by sorrow? Is there a life weighed down by care? Come to the cross, each burden bearing. All your anxiety leave it there. All your anxiety, all your care, bring it to the mercy seat, leave it there; never a burden He can’t bear, never a friend like Jesus.”

Enable me to share the same comfort You are giving me with those You have put in my realm of influence, such as my friends, relatives, children, and grandchildren. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

In Jesus’ precious Name, thank you for the comfort of Your Word, the Bible. Amen.
